LEONARD E. WRIGHT

Leonard Ely Wright, 70, of the 1900 block of Redgate Drive, a retired pipefitter supervisor, died Sept. 24, 1994, in a Portsmouth hospital.

Mr. Wright was born in Pulaski County, Va. He had retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard Shop 56 after 34 years. He was a Baptist and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Parker Wright of Portsmouth; five daughters, Barbara W. Corbett and Terri P. Chrisman, both of Chesapeake and Debbie P. Mullen, Linda P. Hess and Lisa P. McIntosh, all of Portsmouth; three sons, Terry L. Wright of Chesapeake, David L. Parker of Norfolk and Barry K. Wright of Westfield, N.Y.; three sisters, Georgia W. McCourt and Patsy W. Hedge, both of Pulaski, Va. and Frances W. Estep of Crown Point, Ind.; five brothers, John W. Wright, Robert A. Wright, Curtis F. Wright and Jackie W. Wright, all of Pulaski and Arnold C. Wright of Youngstown, Ohio; 22 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, by the Rev. Billy R. Lewis. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. and also at the residence.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
