Angeline Tucker-Goosby, 98, died on Sept. 21, 1994, at the University Park Living Center.
She was born in Franklin Parish, La., the daughter of a slave, 28 years after the Civil War. She was the widow of the late Jacob Tucker and Pierce Goosby. She was the beloved matriarch of her family for many years and affectionately known by family members and throughout the community as ``Ma Chuck.'' She was a member of the Spring Street Baptist Church and a member of its Mother's Board. She also was a member of the Thursday Morning Breakfast Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Lula Harris of Ann Arbor, Mich. and Emma Briggs of Muskegon Heights, Mich.; five sons, Andrew Tucker, Hot Springs, Ark., Judson Tucker, Muskegon, Mich.; Artell Tucker, Ypsilanti, Mich., Rodell Tucker, Prince George, Va.; and B.J. Tucker, M.D., Virginia Beach, Va. Also included among the survivors are five daughters-in-law; 50 grandchildren, over 100 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The funeral will be held today at 1 p.m. Toombs Funeral Home of Muskegon Heights is officiating.
