EDWARD WILLIAMS JR.

Mr. Edward ``Mickey'' Williams Jr., 42, went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 24, 1994, in the Hospice Unit of Riverside Regional Medical Center.

A native of Portsmouth, Va., he was a resident of the Peninsula since 1972. He was a 1970 graduate of I.C. Norcom High School and attended Tidewater Community College. Mr. Williams retired from Newport News Shipbuilding in 1994 after 21 years. He was a member of Joynes Road Church of God.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rosetta D. Williams; two daughters, Twyla E. Williams and Tanya L. Williams, all of Hampton; his mother, Mary L. Williams of Portsmouth; two sisters, Evelyn Jackson of Houston, Texas and Juanita Batten of Portsmouth; a brother, Terrence Williams of Portsmouth; and his mother-in-law, Peggy Brown of Portsmouth.

A funeral will be held on Thursday at noon at Joynes Road Church of God by Rev. Dennis G. Kidd. Interment will be in Hampton Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in church by 10a.m. Thursday. The family will assemble at the church by 11:30 a.m. Thursday. Viewing from noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home.
