Carl Jay Hillyard, 66, of Route 2, Box 349, died Sept. 26, 1994, in his home.
Mr. Hillyard, a native of Tompkins County, N.Y., was a retired iron worker. He conducted the Puppet Ministry.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Gunter Hillyard; his mother, Hazel Weaver Hillyard of Ithaca, N.Y.; a daughter, Sandra Montgomery of Gray Court, S.C.; a foster daughter, Pinkie Ribby of Suffolk; four sons, Donald Hillyard of Horsham, Pa., David Hillyard of Gray Court, S.C., Steven Hillyard of Claybrook, Va., and James Hillyard of Simpsonville, S.C.; two sisters, Elly Gill of Virginia Beach and Dorothy Allen of Ithaca, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; two foster grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Reynoldson Baptist Church by the Rev. Billy Presley. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Ahoskie. Harrell Funeral Home, Gatesville, is in charge of arrangements.
