Backhoe operator Walter Gray of Kitty Hawk pulls down one of the

last standing sections of the Outer Banks Hotline Thrift Store in

Manteo. The structure has been replaced by a badly needed

6,600-square-foot building, background. ``It really served its

purpose but it's good to see it gone,'' said director Lynn Bryant.
