Filmmaker Ken Burns has donated his papers and thousands of feet of video and audio tape stemming from his documentary films to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Burns, whose films include the series ``Baseball,'' now being broadcast on PBS, has donated the complete working papers and footage from eight works, including his popular documentary ``The Civil War,'' UNC spokeswoman Liz Lucas said Tuesday.
``The Civil War'' attracted more than 40 million viewers during its 1990 debut and was public television's highest-rated show ever.
David Moltke-Hansen, director of the school's Southern Historical Collection, said the donation also includes complete papers and footage from ``The Shakers,'' ``Radio Pioneers'' and ``Huey Long.'' by CNB
