Among the billions in spending the House approved for the fiscal year beginning Saturday not a cent will be going for pay increases for members of Congress.
With lawmakers wary of provoking voters who already seem eager to throw incumbents out of office, a $23.5 billion Treasury, Postal Service and general government measure approved Tuesday night specifically bars any increase in legislators' $133,600 salaries.
