Police report equipment valued at $3,000 was stolen last week from a Norfolk police boat while it was at a marina.
The theft took place between 3:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. while the boat was at Willoughby Bay Marina. The boat had been taken to the marina to have its alternator and starter repaired.
Missing from the boat was a Loran navigation system, a VHF radio, public address system, a pair of binoculars, several pieces of nautical equipment and two chairs.
The newest of Norfolk's seven police boats, the 28-foot Privateer, was put into service in April. It has two gasoline engines, a fully enclosed cabin, two berths and a swim platform. by CNB
