SAMUEL H. HUGHEY

Samuel H. ``Sammy'' Hughey, 64, of the 2000 block of S. Military Highway, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 1994, in Portsmouth Naval Hospital.

Mr. Hughey was the son of the late Samuel H. Hughey and Marie Kirby Hughey. He retired from Colonial Metal Works, was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars with 23 years of service, and was a member of Fleet Reserve and Grace Baptist Temple.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys A. Hughey; six sisters, Ann Hernandez of Detroit, Lillian McDowell of Fort Worth, Texas, Barbara West, Martha Henderson, Mary Jo Revis and Sara Bryant, all of Spartanburg, S.C.; four brothers, Hiran Hughey of Clinton, S.C., Robert Hughey, David Hughey and Cecil Hughey, all of Spartanburg.

The body will be sent to Lanford-Pollard Funeral Home, Spartanburg, S.C. A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, Sept. 30, 1994, at 11 a.m. in Wellford Cemetery, Spartanburg, S.C, with the Rev. Harold Wilson officiating. Twiford Colonial Chapel is in charge of local arrangements.
