Mildred Jean Richardson, 72, of the 3900 block of Plum Lane, died Sept. 27 1994, in Durham, N.C.
Mrs. Richardson was a native of Kearny, N.J. She was the widow of George Clay Richardson Sr. She was the retired manager of the Hospitality Shop of Portsmouth General Hospital and also retired from Portsmouth Hardware. She was a member of Indiana United Methodist Church, Chesapeake.
Survivors include a daughter, Jean E. Credle of Portsmouth; two sons, G. Clay Richardson Jr. of Chesapeake and Dr. William ``Bill'' James Richardson of Durham, N.C.; three sisters, Mary J. Casebeer of Cottage Grove, Ore., Betty J. Peterson of Toledo, Ohio and Grace J. Galbreath of Chesapeake; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, by the Rev. Cliff Whitlock. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. and other times at the home of a son, G. Clay Richardson Jr., 2032 Ames Circle North, Chesapeake.
