Hazel Louise Priest, 62, of the 600 block of Great Bridge Blvd., died Tuesday in a Chesapeake hospital.
Mrs. Priest was born in Bladen County, N.C., and was the daughter of Fodie Gyton Edwards of Bladenboro, N.C., and the late Clarence Edwards.
She is also survived by her husband, Fred Priest Sr.; two daughters, Hazel Ann Smith of Portsmouth and Sara Louise Priest of Chesapeake; three sons, Clarence H. Priest, Freddie Helton Priest and Mark Anthony Priest, all of Chesapeake; one sister, Christine Dowless of Bladen County, N.C.; one brother, Jason Edwards, also of Bladen County; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, with the Rev. Henry Johnson and the Rev. Robert Mast officiating. Burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
