Helen Sawyer Twiddy, 77, of the 3600 block of Buckingham St., a homemaker, died Sept. 26, 1994, in Virginia Beach.
Mrs. Twiddy was born in Henderson, N.C., and was the widow of Worth H. Twiddy. She was a member of Gateway Freewill Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, and was a former Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas R. Twiddy of Virginia Beach and the Rev. Grover E. Twiddy of Kinston, N.C.; five sisters, Mary S. Nash of Rocky Mount, N.C., Marie Williams of Orlando, Fla., Kat Batchelor of Sharpsburg, N.C., Hannah Young of Birmingham, Ala. and Miriam Marocco of Scarsdale, N.Y.; four brothers, Nick Sawyer of Everetts, N.C., Bert Sawyer and Curtis Sawyer, both of Fort Myers, Fla., and Bobby Sawyer of Port Charlotte, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Gateway Freewill Baptist Church by the Rev. Dale Burden. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is handling arrangements.
