CONSENT AGENDA
Providing financial statements as of Aug. 31, for the first two months of the fiscal year.
Recommended action: receive and file.
Recommending that the Norfolk Police Department carry mace in the city parade on Saturday, Nov. 19.
Recommended action: approve use of the mace.
Advising council of the City Planning Commission recommendation on the application for a Downtown Development Certificate concerning the MacArthur Center.
Recommended action: approve for ordinance.
REGULAR AGENDA
An ordinance authorizing the operation of an establishment for the sale of alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption at 3910 Colley Ave. Continued two weeks.
An ordinance to amend the Norfolk City Code, 1979, by adding a new subsection under Section 25-651, to prohibit U-Turns at Merrimac and Westminster Avenues.
A resolution requesting the Virginia Department of Transportation to place underground all utility relocations for the Chesapeake Boulevard widening project from the intersection of Dudley Avenue and Chesapeake Boulevard north to the intersection of Chesapeake Boulevard and Ocean View Avenue .
An ordinance establishing an underground utility district, in accordance with the Virginia Department of Transportation policy on placing utility facilities underground, from the intersection of Dudley Avenue and Chesapeake Boulevard north to the intersection of Chesapeake Boulevard and Ocean View Avenue.
An ordinance approving the temporary continuation of an outreach program and appropriating funds received from Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority to pay for it.
An ordinance authorizing the employment of two people in a special project status, as part of the Downsizing and Employee Retention and Training Program, deleting nine positions and creating nine positions in various departments, providing funds for the payment of salaries and amending the city's General Compensation Plan.
