Gov. George F. Allen took to the airwaves on Thursday in
Richmond, answering callers' questions about Disney's pullout from a
site near Haymarket. Allen, who had courted Disney as an economic
boon to Virginia, earlier blamed the withdrawal on ``so much
negative blasting, primarily from people outside of Virginia.''
As for Disney officials, their decision stemmed partly from
having been bogged down in internal issues and the controversy
surrounding the project, which spawned lawsuits, protest marches and
bad press.
