I am a black American and a supporter of Gov. George Allen's crime plan. Those who say the plan is against blacks are not noticing why more blacks will be affected.
The black-on-black crime rate is alarming. Gov. Allen's plan would help protect blacks from black violence.
This plan is not racist, because crime is not a racial issue.
It is time blacks took a look at the black neighborhood. They see that every night a young black is killed over something stupid and that social programs are not working.
I do not want to hear ``educate them so they can get jobs.'' These young thugs will not go to school even long enough to learn to complete a job-application form. The ``bend-over-backward'' programs cannot help those people unless they have a desire to learn themselves.
I say let's try something different to curb the crime rate, and Gov. Allen is trying. To those who say the program is against blacks, I say: ``Wake up. See who is doing all the violent crimes to one another.''
It is time for black Americans to come to grips with the issues of black-on-black crimes and stop trying to justify black youths' failures to stop killing one another.
