Martha Katherine Smith Rowsey was born Nov. 30, 1912, in Healing Springs, Va., and died Sept. 28, 1994, in Chesapeake General Hospital. She resided at Sentara Nursing Home, Chesapeake.
She was the devoted wife of the late Perty Edward Rowsey, and was the loving mother of David Rowsey of Virginia Beach, Mattie Schiller of Tremecula, Calif., Virginia Schelin of Richmond, Va., and Albert L. Rowsey of Virginia Beach; two loving sisters, Helen Henson and Dorothy Fergerson, both of Buena Vista, Va.; 12 loving grandchildren; and 11 loving great-grandchildren.
A devoted mother and a dedicated Christian, she was a member of Pentecostal Church of Christ, Virginia Beach.
A graveside service will be conducted Monday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. in Princess Anne Memorial Park, 1110 N. Great Neck Road, by the Rev. Tommy J. Taylor. The family will receive friends in the Maestas Funeral Home Baltic Avenue Chapel Sunday night from 7:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Fund, Tidewater Council, 360 Southport Circle, Virginia Beach 23452.
