Scott Winston Smaltz, 39, of the 600 block of Chandler Harper Drive, died Sept. 29, 1994, in a Chesapeake hospital.
Mr. Smaltz was a native of Portsmouth and a Baptist. He was a self-employed roofer.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Hoggard Smaltz, and is survived by his father and stepmother, Clarence ``Bob'' Smaltz and Amelia W. Smaltz of Portsmouth; a sister, Marsha Ann Smaltz of Suffolk and his fiancee, Carol Collier of Sanford, Fla.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Don. Sheffield. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. today and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or a favorite charity.
