Helen Beatrice Stubbs of the 7500 block of Hughart St., died Sept. 29, 1994, in Lake Taylor Hospital, Norfolk.
Mrs. Stubbs was born in Norfolk County and was the widow of Alphonso Stubbs. She was a retired domestic worker for Rebecca White. She was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Norfolk, the Senior Choir and Missionary Board, and a member of the Eastern Star, Rising Sun Chapter (NU)32 and past matron of Chapter (NU)32.
Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn S. Epps and Audrey M. Lyles; a son, Minton M. Stubbs; and two sisters, Marie Foster and Irene Foote, all of Norfolk; two brothers, John L. Garrison of Norfolk and Everette Garrison of Jamaica, N.Y.; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church by the Rev. Keith S. Cook. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in church at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Family and friends will assemble at the home for the procession to the church at 11 a.m. for the noon service. T.E. Cooke-Twilight Funeral Home, Suffolk, is handling arrangements.
