Ruth Parker Pruden, 77, of the 400 block of Church St., died Sept. 29, 1994, in Pitt Memorial Hospital, Greenville, N.C.
Mrs. Pruden was born in Gates County, N.C. She retired from Mylecraft Mfg. Co., Rich Square, N.C.; was the widow of Mills E. Pruden, Jr.; and a member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church, Gates County.
Survivors include four daughters, Ann P. Saine of Virginia Beach, Barbara P. Conway of Gloucester, Va., Rebecca Ruth Oberdorf of Brandon, Fla., and Marie P. Northcott of Trap, N.C.; four sons, Richard Parker Pruden of Gloucester, Va., Mills E. Pruden, III, and Sammy R. Pruden, both of Roxobel, and Roger W. Pruden of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Lillian Stallings of Suffolk, Va.; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Sandy Run Baptist Church, Roxobel, by the Rev. H.C. Boschen and the Rev. Michael S. Jones. Burial will be in Roxobel-Kelford Cemetery. Garrett Funeral Home, Rich Square, is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Roxobel Volunteer Fire Dept. or Sandy Run Baptist Church.
