A 19-year-old Virginia Beach man who has previously been charged with vandalism for spraying graffiti at the Beach faces similar charges in Norfolk.
Michael R. McCann of the 4900 block of Hillswick Drive been charged with three counts of vandalism stemming from graffiti on structures in Norfolk. Police believe his arrest will clear more than 100 cases of vandalism.
McCann, who uses the graffiti alias of Solo, was arrested in Virginia Beach Jan. 8. He was accused of defacing wooden fences, utility equipment, bridges and overpasses along Princess Anne and Indian River roads and Lynnhaven Parkway. At the time, McCann was characterized by police as one of the city's two most prolific and visible graffiti painters.
Norfolk police said McCann is responsible for graffiti left Aug. 10 in the 2500 block of Colley Ave., the 1500 block of Core Ave. and the 200 block of E. Little Creek Road.
