I really had to chuckle upon reading the Sept. 17 edition of The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star. Within the first section was a long article headlined ``Elvis lives! And a commission of fans claims they can prove it.''
I had to remind myself that this was the regular newspaper, not one of the newspapers with the headlines that amuse me when I'm standing in the grocery-checkout line.
Another article in the same edition spoke of how the two-month training (physical, diet) of the Miss America Pageant contestants was very much like the training of Olympic athletes. Having a child who may someday make it to the Olympic level after hundreds and hundreds of hours of training - over years of time - I thought this analogy was really ridiculous.
Now you expect me to seriously read the rest of your newspaper, expecting responsible, impartial journalism? That would provide the biggest chuckle of all.
