THOMAS E. CREEKMORE JR.

Thomas Edward Creekmore Jr. of the 800 block of Clinton Street, Virginia Beach, died Sept. 30, 1994, in his residence.

Mr. Creekmore was the son of the late Thomas E. Creekmore Sr. of Moyock, N.C., and Edna Powell Creekmore of Edenton, N.C. Mr. Creekmore was a native of Currituck County, North Carolina. He was born on Pudding Ridge Road on February 5, 1919, and grew up in the Village of Moyock, where he could be seen playing with his pet goat and cart. He was an outstanding athlete at Moyock High School, excelling in basketball and baseball. Mr. Creekmore was a quality control inspector for the Ford Motor Company Assembly Plant, where he retired with forty-one years of service. He was a member of Local U.A.W. 919. Mr. Creekmore was pre-deceased by his wife, Jean Wood Creekmore. They were married for 52 years and had resided in the Tidewater area since 1940. Mr. Creekmore always had a sparkle in his eye and a pleasant word for everyone.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Creekmore, a son, Thomas E. Creekmore III; and one granddaughter, Jean Elizabeth ``Wendy'' Creekmore. He is also survived by four sisters, Mrs. J.M. Bell Jr., Mrs. William West, Mrs. Robert Briener and Mrs. Copeland Newbern.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 1994, in Moyock Cemetery, North Carolina. Twiford Funeral Home, Great Bridge, is in charge.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Moyock United Methodist Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 267, Hwy NC 168, Moyock, N.C. 27958.
