ADC (AW) Curtis J. Olson, 34, of the 400 block of W. Farmington Road, died Sept. 29, 1994, in Suffolk as a result of an auto accident.
Mr. Olson was born in Elgin, Ill., was in the Navy for 16 years, attached to the U.S.S. Kearsarge LHD3, and served during Desert Storm. He was a member of the C.P.O. Association, a den leader for Boy Scouts of America, a P.T.A. member of Trantwood Elementary and Lynnhaven Middle School and a member of the J.W. Lilly Hunt Club. He was very active in children's soccer and baseball and was a past member of the 4-H Club of Tennessee.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn J. Olson; a daughter, Christina J. Olson, and two sons, Cail J. Olson and Christopher J. Olson, all of the home address; his parents, Elaine P. Olson and Kenneth C. Olson of Dundee, Mich.; father-in-law and stepmother-in-law, Thomas J. Mabry and Faye S. Mabry of Gainesboro, Tenn.; a sister, Angela Olson of Dundee, Mich.; sister-in-law, Kathleen and Jerry Graves of Moss, Tenn.; two brothers, Craig Olson and Jason Olson of Greenville, Tenn.; brother-in-law, Thomas J. III and Loretta Mabry of Celina, Tenn.; also survived by several beloved nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel, by Chaplain Larry Hicks. The body will be sent to Anderson Funeral Home, Gainesboro, Tenn., for burial arrangements. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 3 p.m. Tuesday until time of the funeral. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mr. Olson's mother-in-law Jettie M. Mabry.
