Mary Jakeman Hobbs, 56, of Maplewood Lane, Hull, Ga., died Oct. 1, 1994 in a Georgia hospital.
Mrs. Hobbs was a native of Nansemond County and was the daughter of the late Wilson Arthur and Ruth Edward Keesee Jakeman. She was a personal care provider and a member of Joy Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hobbs is survived by her husband, Weldon L. Hobbs of Hull; three daughters, Sharon Kay Hobbs of Hobbsville, N.C., Cheryl H. Reid and Teresa Anne Hobbs, both of Hull; two sisters, Vera J. Bright of Suffolk and Louise Christianson of Danville; a brother, Elmer Jakeman of Suffolk; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service was conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Bridges Chapel by the Rev. Steve Stephens. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, in Warwick Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery, Hobbsville, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Madison County Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
The family is at the residence, 72 Maplewood Lane, Hull, and will receive friends at the funeral home after the memorial service. Bridges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
