David Horton Baines, 82, of the 100 block of Palmyra Drive, died Oct. 2, 1994, in Hillhaven-Nansemond Nursing Center.
Mr. Baines was born in Whaleyville, Va. He was retired from Planters Lifesavers Co. as a scales operator and was also a retired farmer. He was a member of Suffolk Church of Christ and was an Air Force veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice Fussell Baines; two daughters, Judy B. Whitley of Windsor and Linda B. Horne of Virginia Beach; four grandchildren; a niece and two nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Eva Horton Baines, his father, John Edward Baines, and a brother, Burleigh Edward Baines.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Holly Lawn Cemetery by Minister Billy Ray Boyd. The family will receive friends at the residence. Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, is handling arrangements.
