Walter ``Duke'' Backus, 43, of the 2100 block of Keller Ave., died Oct. 2, 1994, in his home.
Mr. Backus was born in Norfolk. He was employed with the city of Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Backus; two daughters, Brenda Backus and LaShawn Backus; three sons, Walter F. Backus, Andre R. Backus and Adam E. Backus; his mother, Dorothy Mae Rattler; five grandchildren; three sisters; three brothers; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
A funeral will be at noon Thursday in Graves Funeral Home.
