Norfolk police officers take to the streets Monday in front of
Ruffner Middle School with a new weapon to stop speeders. The
department's new Digital Speed Display Board uses a radar gun to
gauge cars' speed, which then is displayed to alert drivers - and
police - that they are speeding. The board, worth between $800 and
$1,000, was donated by a company that police would not name.
