The Isle of Wight Defense League and the Isle of Wight Citizens Association will sponsor a Town Meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, in the Courts Building, Isle of Wight Courthouse.
Discussion on the Virginia Right to Farm Act will include the following questions: Should state government dictate local zoning? Would intensive hog operations in Isle of Wight be an asset or detriment? What effect will these operations have on property value? What impact can be expected on the environment?
Guest speakers will be State Sen. Richard Holland, State Sen. Frederick Quayle, State Del. William Barlow, State Del. J. Paul Councill. In addition, four members of the Department of Environmental Quality will be present to answer citizens' questions.
