John Randolph Cahoon Sr., 85, of 405 27th St., retired owner of Cahoon's Market during the 1940s and 50s and most recently retired from Rich's Market as a buyer, died Oct. 3, 1994, in his residence.
Mr. Cahoon was a native of the Berkley section of Norfolk and a resident of Tidewater all his life. He was the widower of Mary Bunting Cahoon. He was a member of Thalia Trinity Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach and the Tidewater Food Dealers Association.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia C. Hamilton of Virginia Beach; a son, John Randolph Cahoon Jr. of Virginia Beach; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A church service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Thalia Trinity Presbyterian Church by the Rev. James Young and the Rev. Robert Bradford. Burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 405 27th St. Visitation will be at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
