ELAINE ROSEMARIE ZIENK

Elaine Rosemarie Zienk, 71, of the 1300 block of Graham Road, died Sunday morning, Oct. 2, 1994, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.

Mrs. Zienk, a longtime resident of Virginia Beach, was a graduate of the New York Metropolitan School of Nursing. As a private duty registered nurse, she worked at both the old and new Virginia Beach General Hospitals prior to her retirement in the mid-1960s.

Mrs. Zienk's well-known love for animals led her to a successful cat boarding business. She was also a past president of the local Cat Fancier's Association. In later years, she developed an interest in antiques and, for a time, operated her own business.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Anthoney Edward ``Eddie'' Zienk, who died in June. She is survived by her loving daughter, Danielle Zienk Junk of Sperryville, Va.

A memorial service with a Mass of the Resurrection will be held in the Church of the Holy Family, 1279 N. Great Neck Road, on Friday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m. by Father Richard Mooney. The family will receive friends at a reception in the social hall following the services. A memorial service will be conducted in Arlington National Cemetery Post Chapel on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 1:45 p.m. Maestas Funeral Home Baltic Avenue is handling the arrangements.
