Leo P. ``Bucky'' Krest, 75, died Oct. 4, 1994, in Virginia Beach.
Mr. Krest was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. He was a retired manager of The Motor Insurance Corp. of General Motors in Norfolk after 28 years. He was a member, elder and treasurer of Thalia Trinity Presbyterian Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II; former real estate agent; served on the Community Trust Board, City of Virginia Beach; was a volunteer for the City of Virignia Beach; and was instrumental in helping to start the Virginia Beach Sheltered Workshop and obtaining homes for retarded citizens.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes Frew Krest; three daughters and their husbands,Claudia Krest and Garey L. Laube of Colonial Heights, Va., Patricia Lee Krest of Virginia Beach and Kathleen Krest and Kirkwood C. Grove of Roanoke; a son and his wife, Kevin P. and Martha W. Krest of Virginia Beach; a sister, Virginia Reiland of Pittsburgh; a brother, John J. Krest of Pittsburgh; eight grandchildren, DeAnn L. Payne, Michelle Laube, Paul Laube and Jane Laube, all of Colonial Heights, Va., Kaitlin and Karcy Grove of Roanoke, Cameron and Kelsay Krest of Virginia Beach. He was predeceased by a brother, Alexander J. Krest.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Thalia Trinity Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
