CARRIE LEE POWELL

Carrie Lee Powell, 92, a homemaker, of E. Washington Street, Suffolk, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 1994 in Hillhaven Nansemond Convalescent Center.

Widow of Tamlin C. Powell, Mrs. Powell was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, Skippers and a member of its Senior Choir and Missionary Circle. She was also a member of the Home Demonstration Club of Greensville.

She is survived by two daughters, Hattie P. West of Suffolk and Marie P. Simpson of Hampton; five sons, William H. Powell of Newport News, Leroy Powell of Brooklyn, N.Y., Robert Powell of Takoma Park, Md., Charlie Powell of Washington, D.C., and George Powell of Hampton; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at Antioch Baptist Church, Skippers, Va., with the Rev. Richard L. Webb officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Knox Funeral Service Inc., Emporia.
