Helen L. Reece, 54, of the 700 block of Harris Point Drive, died Oct. 1, 1994, in her residence.
Mrs. Reece was born in Florial Park, N.Y. She had been a teacher for 24 years, most recently at Norfolk Academy, where she taught biology and chemistry for the last five years. Mrs. Reece received her B.S. in biology from Georgia Southern College, Statesboro, Ga., and her M.S. in biology from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Ariz.
In 1989 she was named Teacher of the Year at John Carroll High School, Fort Pierce, Fla. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gama Society, TAU Chapter (Teachers Sorority).
Survivors include her husband, Forrest D. ``Dan'' Reece Jr.; and a daughter, Erica R. Reece of Virginia Beach.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, in Christ and St. Luke's Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. H. Graham Hudgins and the Rev. James W.H. Sell. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is handling arrangements.
