SUE S. WHITE

Sue Story White of the 1000 block of U.S. Highway 158 in the Newland community of Elizabeth City, died Thursday, Oct. 6, in a local hospital.

She was a native of Perquimans County, N.C. She was a member of Ramoth Gilead Baptist Church and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, South Mills Chapter (NU)270.

Mrs. White was the daughter of the late Thomas C. and Susan Davis Story and the widow of Moses Rountree White Jr.

Survivors include three daughters, Margie W. Blevins of Chesapeake, Loyce W. Twiford and Kay W. Weeks, both of Elizabeth City; a son, the Rev. M.R. White III of Portsmouth; two sisters, Ruby Chaffin of Elizabeth City and Ella Mae Barclift of Portsmouth; a brother, Augustus Story of Avenel, N.J.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at Twiford's Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church St. on Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Benton and the Rev. Alan Gibson officiating. Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and at other times at the residence.
