SUFFOLK - It was - as nearly everyone predicted - a close thriller.
Jimmy Whitehead threw three touchdowns passes as Catholic High came from behind to edge Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, 18-15, in a Colonial Football Association football game at Art Jones Field Friday.
Trailing 7-0 at halftime, Whitehead came out firing, tossing touchdown passes to Sean Dartol, Eric Washburn and Kimani Lewis, the latter to go up 18-7 with 10:59 remaining.
However, N-SA (1-5, 0-2) retaliated on Mark Fowler's 34-yard TD run with 9:54 showing. His two-point conversion put the Saints within a field goal of tying.
