It is a sad day when we vote a dedicated public servant out of office because he wants us to pay our bills, and elect a person because he promises to lower our taxes and run our government by borrowing more and more money that our children will have to repay.
For years I have called this ``Little Lord Fauntleroy government.'' Little Lord Fauntleroy ran around the countryside for years spending daddy's money at an ever-increasing rate. If he ran a little short, he simply called his dad for a few hundred thousand more. One day his dad ran out of money, but Little Lord Fauntleroy could not stop.
You can guess the rest. If you and I must pay our bills, why shouldn't we demand that our elected officials do the same?
Elect Chuck Robb, a proven middle-of-the-road public servant, if you want our government to be run like a business. If not, elect Little Lord Fauntleroy.
