DUTY, HONOR, COUNTRY AND OLIVER NORTH

Three words are most important to me: duty, honor, country. We now have a candidate, given the opportunity to fulfill his responsibilities off the battlefield, who failed to comprehend the importance of this commitment.

Lt. Col. Oliver North failed in his duty when he accepted his superiors' orders which were illegal. Lt. Col. North lost his honor when he chose to carry out the illegal commands of his superiors and collaborate with drug-dealing dictators and ultra-right non-Christian radicals holding Americans illegally. Colonel North failed his country when he did not inform the people of the illegal intent of his superiors.

Mr. North now wants Virginia to follow him to the Senate of the United States.

Robert E. Lee, when asked to lead the Union Army, followed his duty, honor, country and came home to lead Virginia.
