MOSES ANDREWS

Moses Andrews, 72, of the 3300 block of Gwin St., died Oct. 7, 1994, in a local hospital.

Mr. Andrews was born in Northampton County. He retired after 20 years with the National Maritime Union and 10 years with ILA Local 1819. He was a former member of African Baptist Church, Cheriton, Va.

Survivors include his wife, Otelia F. Andrews; three daughters, Freda DuBose and Stephanie Smith of Portsmouth and Winifred DeBerry of Norfolk; two sons, Anthony O. Andrews of Moss Point, Miss., and Dwight M. Andrews of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Florence V. Smaw and Corrine Wynder of Fairview, Va.; three brothers, William Andrews of Eastville, Va., Burley Andrews Sr. of New Castle, Del., and Eugene Andrews Sr. of Portsmouth; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and one aunt.

A funeral will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Trinity A.M.E. Church. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Pretlow & Sons Funeral Home is handling arrangements. A wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday.
