ROBERT L. NIXON

Robert L. Nixon of the 300 block of Hardy Ave., died Oct. 6, 1994, in a local hospital.

Mr. Nixon was born in Norfolk. He retired in 1985 from the U.S. government with the U.S. General Service Administration after 25 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Berkley; New Diamond Male Ushers; AARP; National Maritime Union; and Ebenezer Masonic Lodge, PHA Prince Hall (NU)39.

Survivors include his wife, Edna B. Nixon; daughter-in-law, Viola H. Nixon; a son, Arthur B. Nixon of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Clara Hunt of Norfolk and Essie Gray of Chesapeake; a brother, Claude Nixon of Norfolk; grandchildren, Andrae C. Nixon and Sierna K. Nixon, both of Virginia Beach; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Berkley, by the Rev. W.D. Tyree. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
