THOMAS K. WHEELIN

CDR. Thomas K. Wheelin, U.S. Navy Ret., 54, of the 1300 block of Stephens Road, died October 9, 1994, in his residence, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Mr. Wheelin was born in Preston, Idaho, and was a Catholic. He served 22 years in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of Vietnam. He retired on July 1, 1984, and for the past several years was a Sales Representative for Fabritec International.

Survivors include his wife, Judith P. Wheelin; a daughter, Laura S. Wheelin; two sons, Thomas B. Wheelin and Michael K. Wheelin of Virginia Beach; his parents; Lt. Col. Mr. & Mrs. Thomas J. Wheelin, U.S. Army Ret., five sisters, Marian Wheelin Cheek, Kathleen A. Wheelin, both of Evans, Ga., Maureen E. Wheelin of Conyers, Ga., Claudia Jean Wheelin Lane of Douglasville, Ga., and Mary Susan Wheelin Waltz of Roswell, Ga.; and a brother, Christopher P. Wheelin of Evans, Ga.

A funeral mass to honor Thomas Wheelin and glorify God will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Holy Family Catholic Church in Virginia Beach by Fr. Richard Mooney. Burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park with full Military Honors.There will be a visitation Tuesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, will be handling the arrangements.
