MARIA N. GEORGE

Maria Neophitou George, 73, of the 1200 block of Janaf Place, died October 9, 1994, in her residence.

Mrs. George was a loving wife, mother, yia yia, sister, mother-in-law and a friend to everyone who knew her. She was a native of Limnia, Cyprus, and the widow of Robert George. She was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation in Norfolk.

Survivors include her daughter, Harriet A. George of Norfolk; a son, Andrew S. George of Virginia Beach; four sisters, Andrea George and Alexandra Pitsielis, both of Norfolk, Sotira Loizou and Christina George, both of London, England; a brother, Ulysses Demtriou of Cyprus; a brother-in-law, William George of Norfolk; a daughter-in-law, Sandra L. George of Virginia Beach; and two grandchildren, Robert William George and David Rook of Virginia Beach.

A church service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in The Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation by the Rev. Constantine P. Rogakos. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. A Trisagion service will be held Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, is handling the arrangements.
