Cynthia Davenport Baynor, 75, a resident of Snug Harbor for the past several years, died October 9, 1994, in Elizabeth City Hospital.
She was a native of Columbia, N.C., and had been a resident of Hertford, N.C., Norfolk and Virginia Beach. She was a beauty shop owner and a restaurant owner, having operated Little Pig Restaurant, Chic's Beach Restaurant, Bay Cove Restaurant, and Simple Fare Restaurant, all in Virginia Beach. She was a Charter Member of Snug Harbor Interdenominational Church.
She is survived by her husband, Walton Edward Baynor of Snug Harbor; and one brother, David C. Davenport of Virginia Beach; and also by many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 2p.m. Wednesday in Kellum Funeral Home, Pleasant Hall/Kempsville Chapel, by the Rev. Stanley Nixon. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7 to 9p.m.
