Mary Edith Perkins Shrieves, 73, died October 8, 1994, in Oakwood Nursing Home, Virginia Beach.
She was a homemaker and a member of Providence Baptist Church, Shawboro, N.C.
She was the widow of Clinton W. Shrieves. Survivors include two daughters, Joyce L. Alexander of Virginia Beach and Janice Faye Little of Ohio; two sons, Lee Raymond Cotton and L.G. Franklin, both of Alabama; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Woodlawn Memorial Park by the Rev. Johnny McDonald. The family will receive friends today at Twilight Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the building fund, New Temple Grove Ministries, 3972 S. Military Highway, Chesapeake, Va. 23321.
