AFTER WORKING nearly a week on the technical difficulties that knocked its signal out for noncable subscribers, WHRO is back on the public airwaves.
Problems at the transmitter site in Driver put the station off the air Oct. 3. It could be seen by cable subscribers but couldn't be picked up by those without cable.
On Sunday, workers were able to restore about 75 percent of the station's power, said Rosalyn Teichroew, a station spokeswoman. Most of Hampton Roads should be able to receive the station clearly, but the signal fades out around Williamsburg. Station officials are uncertain when the power will be fully restored. by CNB
