NORTH'S PLACE IN HISTORY

I'm a Democrat who believes in God. I support Sen. Charles Robb and I'm just as much a ``Christian'' as Oliver North's supporter Pat Robertson. I realize this may come as a shock to some. Where did the idiotic notion that the Republicans had cornered the market on religion or Christianity come from? I can't imagine.

Oliver North, a native New Yorker, has become the first Yankee to publicly embrace the display of the Confederate flag. It seems Mr. North will say anything to get elected.

Lt. Col. Oliver North doesn't need to be elected to the U.S. Senate. His place in history is already secured. Mr. North is already being compared to the ``other'' great American military figure of this century, Col. Tom Parker.
