Led by military police and a firetruck with sirens blasting, a
parade of vehicles carrying the 111th Transportation Battalion got a
warm welcome home from family and friends as they returned to Fort
Story on Oct. 6 after a two-week stint in Haiti. More than 120 GIs
under the command of of Lt. Col. Bradley Smith eased into their
headquarters on a sunny mid-afternoon, shed their gear and were
treated to punch and cookies at the base community center. Among the
mix of soldiers and family were Alec Wade, 3, and his father,
Specialist Eric Wade, 25, from the 309th Transportation Company,
HA.
