Ellie Edward Nixon, 77, of Route 3, Box 389, died Oct. 10, 1994, in Chowan Hospital.
Mr. Nixon was born on June 4, 1917 in Chowan County, son of the late Ada Bunch Nixon and Thomas Lee Nixon. He was a retired farmer and fisherman and was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a member of Rocky Hock Baptist Church, Oak Grove Hunting Club and Cisco Hunting Club.
Survivors include his wife, Lessie Bunch Nixon; a daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and David Baker of Edenton; one sister, Inez N. Gosser of Edenton; two brothers, Vandy Nixon and Elbert Nixon, both of Edenton; and two grandchildren, Sterling Baker and Heather Baker.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Rocky Hock Baptist Church by the Rev. Merideth Garrett. Burial will be in the Nixon Family Cemetery. Williford-Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Rocky Hock Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
