LEE A. COWLING JR.

Lee Albert Cowling Jr., 73, of The Brian Center and formerly of 2376 Maplewood Ave., died Monday, Oct. 10, 1994, at North Carolina Baptist Hospital.

He was born Aug. 5, 1921, in Porter, Okla., to the late Lee Albert and Ada Sewell Cowling Sr. Mr. Cowling was a member of Parkway Chapel. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and was a building inspector for the City of Winston-Salem before retiring after 26 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Creason Cowling; three daughters, Mrs. Edward (Deborah) Brooks, Mrs. Douglas (Sharon) Twiddy, both of Duck, N.C., and Mrs. Scott (Cathy) Cooper of Virginia Beach; and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. today in Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel by Pastor Rod Sharp. Burial will follow in Parklwan Memorial Gardens. The family requests that memorials be made to the Mountain Top Youth Camp, Route 1, Box 248, Pinnacle, N.C. 27043, or Alzheimer's Association, Piedmont Triad N.C. Chapter, 836 Oak St., Tobacco Square, Suite 451, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27101-1407.
