Kathleen Hatfield Perry, 85, a retired licensed practical nurse, died Oct. 10, 1994, in Chesapeake.
She was born in Huntington, W.Va., and was retired from Leigh Memorial Hospital. She was a dedicated member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church and a member of A.A.R.P., Indian River Senior Citizens and Leigh Memorial Retired Nurses Association. She had loved and cared for 35 foster children and was Senior Citizens Mother of 1990.
Survivors include three daughters, Dolly Carawan, Myrtle Vaughan and Charlotte Lassiter, and a son, George S. Hosking, all of Chesapeake; a brother and sister-in-law, John Hatfield and Madie Hatfield of Virginia Beach; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Della Sawyer of Virginia Beach and Yonnie and Geri Hatfield. She was preceded in death by two children, Carroll Sawyer and Gladys Carawan.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Eastminster Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Robert E. Hobson Jr. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and at other times at 1212 Edgewood Ave., Chesapeake. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Eastminster Presbyterian Church Roofing Fund.
