Volunteers from the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority are
building the first Habitat for Humanity house in Ballentine Place.
The house will be occupied by Charles Thomas, shown helping to erect
one of the walls, and his family. On Sept. 24, the volunteers raised
the walls of the house, just like the old-fashioned barn raising
pioneers used to do.
